Heart of Gold
Brush with Art recently launched its Heart of Gold
project with hopes to raise money for galleries throughout the
Tri-Cities communities. The project is aimed to assist the Kitchener-Waterloo
Art Gallery, Cambridge Galleries, as well as the Canadian Clay
and Glass Gallery with their annual funding as well as contribute
to the endowment grant which is designated for visual arts in
the Waterloo region.
Brush with Art works with local jewellers and community members
to collect any gold, silver, platinum and plated items. These
items often include old or broken jewellery, such as a single
earring or old class rings, and filings from many jewellery stores.
Brush with Art also collects pieces that do not include jewellery,
for example, a silver spoon. Once collected, the filings and pieces
are sold to a refiner. Silver, gold and platinum scraps collected
from manufacturing or production plants can also be refined into
new items. The money generated from these sales is then donated
to the galleries in the local community, from Brush with Art.
For more information, or to donate a broken piece of jewellery
or an old collectible, please contact us via the information found
on the "About Us" page,
located on this website.
Help to keep art alive in your community.
"BRUSH WITH ART demonstrates the benefits of
a partnership between business and the arts to keep culture alive
and thriving in our community."
